Today's Forecast

Dense fog continued to plague the region Friday morning across the state of Minnesota.  As a result, traffic was slow going around much of Minnesota.  Many accidents were reported around the state with fog contributing to part of the problem Friday morning according to authorities.  A dense fog advisory is still in effect for parts of western Minnesota for Friday evening into Saturday morning.  Visibility at times will be reduced to less than a quarter of a mile in parts of western, central, and northern Minnesota overnight.

For Saturday and the weekend, look for dense fog still early in the morning, but then the sky should gradually clear as the day progresses along with the fog burning-off by mid-day.  Highs on Saturday will reach the 30s in most locations.  The winds will remain fairly light at five to ten miles per hour.

Saturday night, a mostly clear to partly cloudy sky should prevail with lows in the teens likely.  Sunday, a storm system to our south could bring heavy snow as close as Iowa and parts of Nebraska and South Dakota.  Minnesota should remain dry.  Highs on Sunday will reach the 30s and lower 40s.  Little moisture is forecasted at this stage through next week for Minnesota.

Have a safe weekend!

Artic air will invade Minnesota by Tuesday, but warmer air should return by the weekend along with chances for snow along the way

Mild temperatures were found across the area over the weekend, but that will quickly come to an end by Monday night into Tuesday.  Highs on Tuesday will struggle to make it above zero in many locations.  We do have a chance of snow as well Monday night and again for Wednesday, Thursday night, Friday, and over the weekend.
